Just stumbled across your blog after someone re-posted your recent Pop Group recording on Dimeadozen.
If this is your collection of masters - wow, and thank you. Done a bit of taping myself since 1999, particularly in the last year since I bought some decent recording gear.
Looking forward to diving into a few of your tapes.
A couple of questions, if that's ok: Have you ever taped Mogwai? Arab Strap? No idea how long you've been taping, there's a whole generation of 1990s Scottish bands for whom I've dearly love to find some live recordings (Telstar Ponies, Yummy Fur etc)
Leading on from this - the Karelia recording you've posted - your master, or from a taper in Scotland? I've been trading since approx 1998 and I've never yet managed to find anyone who was taping in small venues in central Scotland in the mid-1990s. That person is pretty much my trading 'holy grail'.

Many thanks for upping all these great recordings for nothing, you have some really amazing gigs. I managed to get hold of some of your Mark Burgess solo, MB with Brian Glancy and MB with the Sons of God recordings a while back form a guy who said he got them off you. I had the recordings stored on a external hard drive which unfortunately broke and I tried to have it repaired but to no avail. Anyway if I listed what I have lost would it be possible to for you to upload them at some time? Thanks
Thanks for your recent Julian Cope upload (Roadmenders 2004). Much appreciated!
You may want to check that file again as i've noticed some skipping starting at the end of "Robert Mitchum" (around 33:52 ...). I'm wondering if that's already present on the source or if it was introduced during conversion/transfer.
nfortunately old dsts sometimes dont play too well, i listened to that one and it doesnt occur during the music, its not really worth trying to re transfer it cause itll just come out the same :-(
ez Alex, are you coming to oldham for JBramwells gigs ? if not ill bring my md & get soundguy to plug into desk & send you them to upload.
If you can make do with md ??? hi end md on sp settings of course.
Also got a HD cam & tripod...so ask JB if he wants it filming & would get him dvd of master. Or even bluray if figure out how to wire the fucking thing upto mates BRburner.
Take care.
Tim
Ps. if you know anyt MOZ heads....ask em if they taped york last night cheers.
Hi Mate, Thankyou for the recordings. I have 2 requests, can you provide a link for this show please Exit Calm-Middlesborough Empire 6 Jun 10,and do you have any Twisted Wheel recordings you could upload.

Hi Alex, excellent website - I don't suppose you have any Uglifruit under the bed? There's a tune which has popped up on youtube but that's all I can find.
Hi, Enjoyed your blog for quite some time now. It is pretty amazing, I must admit. Also, a giant thank-you for not only taping so many shows, but for sharing them.
Now, I have been downloading for years and I have run into 2 problems. These shows:
Doves-Punchestown Racecourse Oxegen Festival 10 Jul 05 Doves-Paris Le Zenith 26 May 02
no matter how many times I download them and try to extract - they just won't go. So, I was wondering if you could take a look, and maybe do a re-up whenever you find the time to do so.
Absolutely brilliant selection of music you have been uploading recently. Always love the Pulp stuff, any chance or reupping the first night at Manchester Apollo 98 as it doesn't work.
Hello, I hope you haven't finished uploading your whole Oceansize master collection yet. However, if that's the case I want to say THANK YOU again for sharing all these great recordings from the (mostly) early years of the band. Cheers, Thommi
Hello Tarquin, Could you if possible re-post working links for the 2 Killing Joke recordings, Manchester 6 oct 03 and 8 feb 95? It would be much appreciated. Thanks, Chris L

Thanks matey!
Thanks
ReplyDeleteThanks for your recent Julian Cope upload (Roadmenders 2004). Much appreciated!
ReplyDeleteYou may want to check that file again as i've noticed some skipping starting at the end of "Robert Mitchum" (around 33:52 ...). I'm wondering if that's already present on the source or if it was introduced during conversion/transfer.
nfortunately old dsts sometimes dont play too well, i listened to that one and it doesnt occur during the music, its not really worth trying to re transfer it cause itll just come out the same :-(
ReplyDeleteCan you repost the recent Friendly Fires show?
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting The Montgolfier Brothers.
ReplyDeleteIf you've got other recordings of them (or even Gnac/Tranmer) i would love to hear those.

Hi, Enjoyed your blog for quite some time now. It is pretty amazing, I must admit. Also, a giant thank-you for not only taping so many shows, but for sharing them.
ReplyDeleteNow, I have been downloading for years and I have run into 2 problems. These shows:
Doves-Punchestown Racecourse Oxegen Festival 10 Jul 05
Doves-Paris Le Zenith 26 May 02
no matter how many times I download them and try to extract - they just won't go. So, I was wondering if you could take a look, and maybe do a re-up whenever you find the time to do so.
Again, many thanks. :)
The 2 doves dont extract, I'll have to reupload with totally new links, i tried myself
